Raiders Place Third at Wisconsin Dells Invitational

On Saturday, January 28th, the Sugar River Raiders wrestling team competed at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational against 14 other teams.
Blake Endres (32-7), wrestling at 113 lbs, placed first and scored 28 team points. Endres received a bye in Round 1 and in the Quarterfinal won by fall over Watertown’s Finn Mulligan. In the Semifinal, Endres won by decision over Riverdale’s Brody Miess and in the First Place Match won by fall over Nick Ersland of Wisconsin Dells.
Wrestling at 120 lbs, Ashlin Mihlbauer (22-15) placed fifth and scored 17 team points. In Round 1, Mihlbauer won by fall over Riverdale’s Braden Gutweiler and in the Quarterfinal, lost by fall to Crandon’s Brexden Kane. In Consolation Round 2, Mihlbauer won by fall over Grand Meadow Leroy Ostrander Southland’s Scotty Swanek and in the Consolation Semifinal won by fall over Brillion’s McCormick Zutz. In the Fifth Place Match, Mihlbauer won by fall over Watertown’s Angel Ortega.
Wrestling at 126 lbs, Mason Mau (17-2) placed third and scored 18 team points. In Round 1, Mau received a bye and in the Quarterfinal won by tech fall over Grand Meadow Leroy Ostrander Southland’s Teague Alden. Mau lost in the Semifinal to Cedar Grove Belgium’s Jesse Burg and in the Third Place Match, Mau won by fall over Crandon’s Brayden Madl.
Brennan Keyes (23-14), wrestling at 132 lbs, placed fourth and scored 13 team points. In Round 1, Keyes received a bye and in the Quarterfinal won by decision over Sean Duffy of Riverdale. In the Semifinal, Keyes lost by decision to Pardeeville’s Kingston Galetka. In the Third Place Match, Keyes lost by decision to Cedar Grove Belgium’s Owen Race.
Wrestling at 145 lbs was Lukas Loshaw (2-8). Loshaw lost in Round 1 by fall to Noah Kincaid of Waubeno Laona Three Lakes. Loshaw received a bye for Consolation Round 1 and in Consolation Round 2 lost by injury default to Watertown’s Marlon Muniz.
Eli Leonard (30-5) wrestled at 152 lbs, placed first, and scored 29 team points. In Round 1, Leonard received a bye and in the Quarterfinal won over Levi Newman of Waubeno Laona Three Lakes by fall. Leonard won by fall over Cedar Grove Belgium’s Winston Reichle in the Semifinal and in the First Place Match won by major decision over William Becker of Pardeeville.
Wrestling at 160 lbs, Ryker Swenson (24-12), placed third and scored 15 team points. Swenson received a bye in Round 1 and in the Quarterfinal won by decision over Owen Morgan of Cedar Grove Belgium. Swenson lost by tech fall in the Semifinal to Riverdale’s Ashton Miess and in the Third Place Match Swenson won by decision over Pardeeville’s Caleb Mackey.
Alex Zielinski (20-9) wrestled at 170 lbs, placed fourth, and scored 15 team points. Zielinski received a bye in Round 1 and in the Quarterfinal defeated Trey Morse of Wisconsin Dells by fall. Zielinski lost by tech fall in the Semifinal to Ryan Roy of Waubeno Laona Three Lakes, and in the Third Place Match lost by fall to Watertown’s Logan Hespe.
Wrestling at 182 lbs, Aidan Keyes (10-17) placed sixth and scored 9 team points. In Round 1, Keyes received a bye and in the Quarterfinal lost by fall to Riverdale’s Kadin Rynes. In Consolation Round 2, Keyes won by fall over Watertown’s Oliver Geraths and in the Consolation Semifinal Keyes won by medical forfeit over Dylan Warren of Wisconsin Dells. In the Fifth Place Match, Keyes lost by fall to Watertown’s Braden Holleman.
Carson Loshaw (29-7) wrestled at 195 lbs, placing fourth and scoring 15 team points. In Round 1, Loshaw received a bye and won by fall over Cedar Grove Belgium’s Jon Deppiesse in the Quarterfinal. Loshaw lost by decision to Watertown’s Owen Sjoberg in the Semifinal, and in the Third Place Match lost by decision to Crandon’s Silas Dennee.
Garrett Pauli (17-10) placed second in the 220 lb bracket and scored 22 team points. In Round 1, Pauli won by decision over Collin Wilson of La Crosse Logan/Central and in the Quarterfinal Pauli defeated Grand Meadow Leroy Ostrander Southland’s Aaron Mork by fall. Pauli won by fall in the Semifinal over John Swanek of Grand Meadow Leroy Ostrander Southland, and in the First Place Match lost by decision to Deven Soerens of Cedar Grove Belgium.
Wrestling at 285 lbs, Isaac Erb (15-18) placed eighth and scored 8 team points. Erb won Round 1 by fall over Evan Capetta of Watertown and lost the Quarterfinal by fall to Diego Morales of Cedar Grove Belgium. In Consolation Round 2, Erb won by fall over Vadim Misiura of Cedar Grove Belgium and in the Consolation Semifinal lost by fall to Watertown’s Nathan Postma. In the Seventh Place Match, Erb lost by fall to Kolten Kaeo of Crandon.
The Raiders will compete at a Conference Meet at Waterloo High School on Saturday, February 4th.
