Police Department Thanks Chamber for Donation

Dear Editor.
We just wanted to take a minute to thank the New Glarus Chamber of Commerce, its members and the Chamber Director, Susie Weiss, for their recent donation of three new ZOLL AEDs (Automatic External Defibrillators) to the New Glarus Police Department. One of the AEDs are kept in each of our three squads, and are used by the first responding officers for medical emergencies such as heart attacks and cardiac arrests. These will be replacing the two older units that we have, which are outdated and no longer serviceable. Additionally, the new models will interface directly in to the equipment utilized in the New Glarus Area EMS’ ambulances, making patient transfers easier and quicker. Over the last few years, New Glarus police officers have used our AEDs numerous time to revive and save lives here in the village.
The generous support of donations such as this, from the Chamber of Commerce and its members, makes it possible for our department to provide these life saving services and make our community a great place to live, work and visit.
