Have you been on the village board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: I have served on the Village Plan Commission for the last 14 years.
Why are you running for village board? I would like to continue to serve my community and be more involved in the day to day operations of the Village. Monticello is a great community with a lot of potential and I would like to be part of realizing that potential.
What issues do you find most important to the village board? List your top three priorities: Increasing the usage of the public spaces in Monticello, continuing the progress that has been made on the weed and geese issue involving Lake Montesian and looking into some of the things that were brought up by village residents during the public meetings that were held regarding the Village's Comprehensive Plan.
If you could reverse one village action, what would that be? There is no action or actions that I would like to reverse, that seems very divisive, the decisions that were made in the past were made by elected officials using the best information that they had at that time, and I think it would be counter productive to attempt to go backwards in the process.
Any additional comments? I was not born and raised in Monticello, but have called it my home for the past 16 years. I have served the community as a member of the Planning Commission for the last 14 years and the Monticello Fire Department for the last 12 years. I have truly enjoyed the service I have done for the Village and would like to continue that service, if elected, in another capacity, while continuing to serve on the Fire Department. Community service keeps you busy but is also very rewarding.
