On Sunday, February 6th, the Fisheree was held on Lake Montesian. It was a beautiful mild day, with lots of snow and ice. The enclosed shelter was used by many to enjoy some refreshments and visit with other fishermen.
The winners of the raffle were Mark Peterson of South Wayne, 1st place; Troy Pettis of Monticello, 2nd place; and Julia Marty of Monticello, 3rd place. Of the many door prizes there, Scott Babler and John Wendler won the top two door prizes.
Many fish were caught by the children and some received a prize for their catch. There were also a prize for the largest fish caught. Fun was had by all.
The Lions Club would like to thank everyone who participated no matter what they did. We would also like to thank all door prize donors from the community and the surrounding area. A big thank you to Mark Hellenbrand for the use of a port-a-pot and Ken Risley for the use of a stove and the pellets. It did a good job keeping the shelter warm. The Lions appreciate all your support.
Our next event will be a pancake/cheese curd breakfast in March or April. More information will follow.
