Monticello Baseball Falls to Barneveld

In game one of a doubleheader against Barneveld, the Monticello baseball team was shutout 10-0. The Ponies had two hits total.
Jake Pusel was one for two with a double.
Logan Marty hurled the ball the first three innings, giving up eight runs – two earned – and one hit while walking eight and striking out four.
Kolton Shulka then came in when he walked three and gave up two earned runs.
Travis McCoy pitched the last inning where he walked one and gave up zero runs and hits.
In the next game, Barneveld won, 14-2.
Zach Price was one for two with a run, and Billy Spahr was one for two with two RBI.
Spahr was on the mound the first two innings; he walked six and struck out four, and he gave up four hits and seven runs – six earned.
McCoy was up next for two innings and one out. He gave up four runs, two earned runs, and two hits while walking one.
Price then pitched the last two outs where he walked three and struck out one while giving up three runs, one earned run, and one hit.
At Black Hawk on Tuesday, May 12, the Monticello baseball team was dismantled, 11-1. The Ponies had one run on three hits while Black Hawk had 14 hits and 11 runs.
Spahr was two for three, and Ben May was one for two with a run.
At the mound, Trent Siegenthaler went the distance, giving up 14 hits and six earned runs while walking two and striking out one.
