Monroe Martial Arts/New Glarus Tae Kwon Do Athletes Represent the State of Wisconsin in 2017 State Games of America in Grand Rapids

Monroe Martial Arts/New Glarus Tae Kwon Do had 19 students who qualified to represent the State of Wisconsin in the 2017 State Games of America in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on August 4-6, 2017. This event is an Olympic style event in which 48 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Canada participated, making this year's competition an International event. To qualify for the state games these athletes had to place first to third in the Badger State Games or place in the 2015 State Games, which were held in Nebraska. These 19 athletes brought home 34 medals; 22 Gold, five Silver and seven Bronze. The events were Sparring, Forms and Board/Cement Block Breaking. They have all contributed a great deal of time, hard work and dedication and the results showed.
Without the support from our sponsors, it would have been difficult for our students to participate in the State Games of America and represent the State of Wisconsin in this year's International event.
