About Habitat for Humanity of Green County
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Nearly 40 years ago, Habitat was mostly the seed of an idea – a dream and a vision of a small group of people who believed that everyone who grew sleepy at night should have a safe, decent place to lay his or her head. Habitat has fulfilled the better hopes and dreams of over 500,000 families. The volunteers and donors in Green County have been a meaningful part of those statistics as we have built 20 homes since 1991. This mission has improved the living conditions of hundreds of men, women and children and has been done with the philosophy of a hand up, not a hand out. New homes are found in Monroe, Brodhead, Albany, Monticello, Belleville, Browntown and Blanchardville, as well as our frequent weekend “Home Repair Projects” happening all throughout the year.
