Friends of the Badger and Sugar River State Trails Update

The Friends of the Badger and Sugar River State Trails group is inviting members, trail enthusiasts, interested parties, or anyone who wants to learn about the trails to attend a live meeting and picnic. Yes, this is a live meeting, not a Zoom meeting! And we will have food and soft drinks. It will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the New Glarus Woods State Park shelter and all are invited. We will also have a featured speaker, Ms. Linda Gebhardt of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, who will discuss what is involved with setting up a foundation to guarantee ongoing funds for maintenance of the trails.
When you get to the main gate to the park, tell the Ranger that you are there for the Friends meeting and you will not have to purchase a pass.
Meeting topics include a presentation about establishing a foundation for ongoing funding of trail maintenance, a discussion of the upcoming Girl Scout event on September 11, and request for volunteers, recap of the Ten Junk Miles event plus future events, and Adopt a Trail discussion, a Stewart Tunnel update, a DNR update, and grant opportunities.
