Food, Funds and Toy Drive

As we are working our way into the holidays, and with the year that we have had, the local Realtors® from Restaino & Associates in New Glarus are hosting a food and funds drive for Green Cares Food Pantry along with a toy drive for Toys for Tots!
Feel free to drop off non-perishable foods or funds for Green Cares Food Pantry and unwrapped toys for all ages from now until December 12th in the entry of the Restaino office and Post Messenger Recorder whenever the doors are open – usually Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., or you can contact Jana or Lorri by calling (608) 527-3777 to schedule a time for a drop off. Receipts are available for donations to Green Cares Food Pantry.
Items most needed by Green Cares Food Pantry right now are soups, canned vegetables, canned fruit and apple sauce, boxed mac and cheese, cereal, tuna in cans or pouches, canned pasta meals (like Chef Boyardee), cake mixes, soap/shampoo, floss, toothbrushes, toothpaste, paper towels, toilet paper, mittens/gloves, etc.
In the month of October, Green Cares Food Pantry served nearly 250 families and over 700 individuals, and are able to help people all across Green County. Any funds donated will be used to purchase food from Second Harvest Food Bank and local businesses, or for pantry operational expenses. There are over 175 volunteers at Green Cares managed by their Board of Directors. The Marine Corps and Toys for Tots has been giving back to the community since 1947! Presently, the Marine Toys for Tots Program is able to distribute an average of 18 million toys to 7 million children annually. The Foundation raises funds, purchases toys, provides promotional and support materials, manages all funds raised and donated, solicits corporate support, educates the public, and handles day-to-day operations.
