First Ever Wildcat Football Reunion August 25th

There will be a first ever reunion of ALL Belleville High School football alumni the evening of August 25th.  This includes former players, coaches, cheerleaders, managers and fans from the 1940s until the Class of 2017.  The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to Midnight at the beer garden of J&M’s.  This event will be held in conjunction with the Belleville Wildcat – Boscobel Bulldog football game held at the Sports Complex at 7:00 p.m. The schedule is: 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Reception/Meet & Greet at J&M’s Beer Garden; 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Wildcat Football Game at Belleville Sports Complex; 9:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., Reception at J&M’s Beer Garden.
A bus will be made available to transport former players and coaches to the game from J&M’s to see the 2017 version of the Belleville Wildcats in action.
2017 also marks the 45th anniversary of the 1970 – 1972 Belleville Wildcats teams that won 19 games in a row over three seasons. Coach John Becker’s Wildcats finished the 1971 season ranked #3 in the state and #6 in 1972 and won State Line League championships.
Members of these three teams in attendance will be announced at halftime along with their coaches, cheerleaders and managers.  A group photo of all Wildcat football alumni in attendance will also be taken at halftime.
A commemorative program published by the Belleville Area Historical Society will be made available at the game giving the highlights of the win streak and a listing of the ~500 student athletes who played football for the Wildcats and Coach Becker from 1964 to 1991.
This event will be used as a fundraiser for the Belleville Wildcat Gridiron Club, the Belleville Sports Boosters and the Eric James O’Connor Memorial Fund.  Eric would have been a senior this year and played three years of varsity football for the Belleville Wildcats and five years for the Belleville Bobcats in youth football.
Attendees will be able to order food from either J&M’s or Borland’s, or at the Sports Complex during the game.  A 50-50 raffle will be held and door prizes will be given for oldest and youngest Wildcat football alumni in attendance, oldest Wildcat jersey or letter jacket, oldest Wildcat team photo among other random drawings.  Please make plans to attend and we look forward to seeing you!
If you are unable to attend and played between 1964 and 1991, there is a football located behind the bar at Borland’s that we wish you would sign with the year that you graduated.
