Community Club in Search of New Members

The Monticello Community Club would like to invite you or your company to join our organization. In 1937, the Articles of Organization were filed, showing the following purpose of the Club: <i> To advertise and promote the general welfare of the Village of Monticello, Green County, Wisconsin. To provide entertainment for the residents of Monticello and surrounding communities. To promote a general feeling of good will between town(ship) and village residents of this community, to assist in the protection of health and welfare of the children of the community and such other public service as may be rendered for the good of the community. </i> And that has been happening ever since!
Projects take money, and Monticello’s Homecoming is our biggest event of the year and our largest money-maker. Plans for 2018 have already begun, so be sure to put July 6th through 8th on your calendar. And, please consider volunteering early and often! A special thank you to those of you that donated your time and energy to the 2017 Homecoming!
Community input helps us with our many small decisions throughout the year (along with a few major ones). Those decisions in 2017 led to: Three scholarships for Monticello seniors, totaling $2,000; three Monticello Alumni Scholarships totaling $1,500; the organization and running of the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, totaling $215; Monticello Post Prom donation of $500; drag for ball diamond, $406.18; Graduate Banquet funding for 23 Monticello High School seniors, $184; donated five trees for Lake Montesian, $274.95; donated mulch for the park playground, $1,250; donated one third of the cost for the security camera at the park, $625.27; Monticello Dairy Queen Program, $100; half of the Homecoming fireworks, $2,500; Homecoming Kids Tractor Pull trophies, $65.60; Homecoming Raffle prizes, $975; Homecoming Fire Department water fight trophies, $35.91; donation to the Fire Department for equipment, $500; donation to art class for Halloween, $300; Monticello Schools “All School Day of Service,” $60; Christmas concert candy bags, $310.40; Monticello School Track and Field display donation, $300; Green Cares Food Pantry donation, $1,000; Monticello Christmas Stocking fund donation, $1,000; four gift cards for Monticello Community Club dinner, $100; milk and cups for Blood Drive, $20; sponsor and organize Homecoming.
