It is hard to believe it's been one whole year since I started my journey as the 2015-2016 Monticello Dairy Queen. The crowning has led me to meet so many amazing people along the way whom I will never forget. Being the Monticello Dairy Queen has given me the opportunity to impact the public by promoting Monticello, Green County and Wisconsin - its products, agricultural history and traditions. My duties, to name a few, have included handing out award-winning cheese at community events, selling the best ice cream and cream puffs around at fairs and festivals, participating in Ag in the Classroom with the wonderful 4th graders at Monticello Elementary School and helping at agribusiness open houses and pancake breakfasts around the area.
I feel so grateful to have had this wonderful experience and am so happy to have done it alongside the other 12 Dairy queens. You ladies are amazing and each and every one of you has given me great memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I feel truly privileged to have worked with so many great girls and their Moms and, I got to make new friends in the process.
None of this would have been possible without the Green County Ag Chest and its members. Thank you for sponsoring the Queen Program and for giving me this opportunity. I also want to thank Pam Burke for coordinating all of our events and John Baebler for his time spent driving me around in his car in the many parades. Lastly, I would like to thank Kim and Rob Ready, also known as Mom and Dad. You guys have always supported me in everything I have participated in, and Mom, you have been there every single step of the way. This has been a great experience and I am so proud to have been able to represent Monticello and Green County.
For the last time...my name is Karly Ready and I am your 2015-2016 Monticello Dairy Queen.
