Carson Syse Hits 1,000 Points!

Carson Syse scored 15 points and went over 1,000 career points in the Friday, March 4th Wildcats win over Cambridge. With the 87-60 win, the Wildcats advanced to the Division Championship game against the New Glarus Glarner Knights on Saturday night. The Knights won 70-61.

New Glarus Glarner Knights Earn Division 4 Regional Championship

On Tuesday, March 1st, the New Glarus Glarner Knights boys varsity basketball team hosted Waterloo in a WIAA Regional game. Leading 36-21 at the half, the Knights went on to win it, 79-48.
Dain Walter led the Knights with 29 points, while AC Strok scored 25 points and Carter Siegenthaler scored 7 points.
On Friday, March 4th, the Belleville Wildcats hosted Cambridge for a WIAA Regional game. Cambridge was seeded #9, while the Wildcats were seeded #1 for the tournament. Leading at the half 48-26, Belleville went on to win the game 87-60.

Last week was filled with highlights. There were two perfect scores, two near perfect scores, the lowest score of the season thus far and three couples that avoided receiving a skunk postcard by 1-point.

Monticello Girls Brought Down by Catholic Central

The Monticello Lady Ponies’ season ended on February 23rd when they lost in the first round of Regional play to Catholic Central. Monticello was down 14-25 at the half and despite a tremendous offensive effort in the second half, they lost 43-52.
Ellie Gustafson led Monticello with 21 points, while Sarah Brokopp had 7 points and 9 rebounds, Karlee Wilkins scored 6 points, Dalana Trumpy put 5 points on the board, Katelyn Eyler had 2 points, and Sadie Wilkins scored 2 points.

Mau Defeated at State

Congratulations to Mason Mau for having a wonderful sophomore season. Unfortunately, Mason’s season ended on Thursday night in a close match 9-7. However, the young Raider team and Mason should be very proud of their accomplishments of this season.
“There is no doubt that this team will be back better than ever next year,” said Coach Swenson.

Glarner Knights End Regular Season With Win Over Cambridge

The New Glarus Glarner Knights boys varsity basketball team played at Cambridge on February 24th, closing out regular season play. Up 48-16 at the half, the Knights cruised to a 69-48 victory.
Leading New Glarus with 15 points each were Dain Walter and A.C. Strok. Walter had 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block while Strok had 1 assist. Jack Parman scored 12 points and had 4 assists, and Carter Siegenthaler scored 11 points.
