Happy Birthday Stuessy-Kuenzi Post 141

Members of the Stuessy-Kuenzi Post 141 of the American Legion in New Glarus would like to invite and extend a warm welcome to all friends, neighbors, and veterans, to join us on Saturday, October 23rd, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., at Veterans Memorial Hall, for cake, ice cream, and punch for the 100th Birthday of Post 141.
There will also be a short presentation beginning at 1:00 p.m., and all are welcome to attend.

Monticello Ponies Win Conference Championship

The Monticello volleyball team hosted Pecatonica on October 14th, winning it in four, 22-25; 25-9; 25-22; 25-21.
Ellie Gustafson had 25 kills, 5 blocks and 12 digs, while Macey Grant had 7 kills, Hannah Clark had 6 kills and 10 digs, Kelsy Grant had 37 assists and 7 aces.
The Monticello Ponies are undefeated in the Six Rivers East and have clinched the conference championship. They're seeded #1 for the WIAA Division 4 Regionals and have a first round bye. On Thursday, October 21st, they will host the winner of the #9 Albany vs #8 Fall River match.

42nd Annual Native American Indian Artifact Show, October 24, 2021

The Badger State Archaeological Society will hold its 42nd Annual Indian Artifact Show on Sunday, October 24, 2021. The event will be held at the Rehmstedt gym in Monticello School, 334 S. Main Street, Monticello, WI, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost of admission is $2.00 for 14 years and older.

New Glarus FFA Attends World Dairy Expo

On Tuesday, September 28th, 30 New Glarus FFA members visited the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin. Members took in the sights and sounds of the cattle show by watching FFA member Emma Hendrickson win Junior Champion of the International Junior Holstein show.
Students also walked through cattle barns viewing cattle from across the country and visited booths at the Expo of Agriculture Businesses, all of which impacted their views of the dairy industry. Overall it was a great turnout at the World Dairy Expo and we hope to take the same amount or more members next year.

Sugar River Euchre League's 90th Season to Begin October 14

The Sugar River Euchre League will begin its 90th season on Thursday, October 14th. Ten teams will be shuffling and dealing their way through 18 matches for a shot at owning the title “League Champions” for the next year.
To kick the season off, a Captain’s meeting was held on September 23rd at the Norsk Golf Club. An election of officers was held, with Jerome Krantz being elected as League President, Tom Magnuson as Treasurer and Stan Hook as Secretary. Other league business included the approval of this year’s schedule and bylaws.

Lady Ponies Victorious Over Barneveld

The Monticello Lady Ponies volleyball team remains undefeated in the Six Rivers East conference, with a 10-0 record. They played Barneveld on October 5th, and won in three, 25-18; 25-23; 25-17.
Ellie Gustafson had 17 kills, while Hannah Clark had 5 and Macey Grant had 4. Gustafson had 4 aces, while Jaden Zuber, Clark, Katelyn Eyler and Sarah Brokopp each had 1. Kelsy Grant had 3 blocks, while Clark had 2 and Zuber, Eyler and Gustafson had 1. Gustafson and Kelsy Grant had 6 digs, while Zuber, Clark and Macey Grant had 3 each.
