Wisconsin School Board Week Set for October 3-9

The Wisconsin Association of School Boards has designated October 3-9 as Wisconsin School Board Week as a time to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our communities. New Glarus School District is joining all public school districts across the state to celebrate Wisconsin School Board Week to honor local board members for their commitment to New Glarus and its children.

Monticello Fall Clean Up to be Held Oct. 18

All items for Monticello’s Fall Clean Up must be separated/sorted and curbside by 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 18, 2021.
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than four feet wide by ten feet long by four feet high.
Debris accepted are furniture and miscellaneous junk, paint cans (empty or open with paint dried), empty burn barrels, metal and appliances and all small loose articles, which must be placed in an open, disposable container.

Grace United Methodist Church to Hold Prayer Hour

If the headlines in these days have you uneasy, you are wrestling with a personal challenge or simply would like some time with God in a warm and welcoming space, in addition to our Sunday morning services we invite you to take some quiet time for individual prayer and reflection during the week. Grace United Methodist Church at 246 W. Pearl Street in Belleville will be open for a Prayer Hour every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., and again from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Pastor Michael will be available and can take prayer requests for our congregation.

St. Francis Annual Church Dinner

St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Belleville is hosting its annual church dinner on Sunday, October 3, 2021, in the St. Mary of Lourdes Hall located at 227 Frederick Street. Carry out orders and drive through pick up will be available at St. Francis Church located at 338 S. Harrison Street.
The all you can eat dinner features Roast Pork and Chicken served buffet style, along with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Green Beans, Applesauce, Coleslaw, Dinner Rolls, and Homemade Pies.

Monroe Theatre Guild Presents ^Lombardi^"

Monroe Theatre Guild is pleased to announce the long-awaited, upcoming production of the play “Lombardi”, written by Eric Simonson and based on the book “When Pride Still Mattered – A Life of Vince Lombardi”, written by David Maraniss. Directed for MTG by Jennie Lembach with Assistant Director Andrew Rocheleau. This play, about the Packers’ legendary coach of the 1960’s, has waited two years to appear on MTG’s stage, having been postponed from 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Swiss Church Hosting Kilby Express Take Out Dinners

Swiss Church will be hosting a modified version of the annual Kilby Supper - Homecoming Celebration in 2021. The traditional sit down dinner in Fellowship Hall will not occur this year. Instead, they will be offering “Kilby Express” Take Out Dinners, as well as the “Taste of Kilby” – Walking Swiss Meatballs Food Stand.

Brodhead in the Moonlight....a Haunting Experience

The Brodhead Police Association is hosting a downtown historical walking tour with a twist: you will learn of Brodhead’s ghostly stories as well!
Please join us each Friday and Saturday night in October to learn about Brodhead, both historical and spiritual.
Friday night tours are limited to 15 people, $35 per person. Saturday night tours are limited to 10 people, $45 per person; Saturday night’s tours we will be joined by paranormal team, Lost Souls in the Shadows!

Primrose is ready to serve our Church Supper in a new way to all that have enjoyed it over the years. We look forward to those that gather to prepare and, most of all, those that come to enjoy the meal.

2021 Justice For A Cure Kick-Off Event

CALLING ALL - Heroes, Cancer Warriors, Cancer Survivors, Care Givers, and Community Members.
Please come and join us for the 2021 Justice For A Cure kick-off event for October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

New Glarus Oktoberfest

It’s almost time for New Glarus Oktoberfest! The annual festival, coordinated by the New Glarus Chamber of Commerce, will kick off on Thursday, September 23, and run through Sunday, September 26, 2021.
Thursday, September 23: 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., Polka music by the Steve Meisner Band. 8:30 p.m., King and Queen Contest. You could be our Oktoberfest royalty for the weekend! Cash prizes, crown, free beer and bragging rights will be awarded to the King and Queen, so dress in your best Oktoberfest attire and let the people be the judges!
