Healthy individuals are needed every day to maintain an adequate blood supply for patients in need. Once a donor has made the commitment to give blood, it is important to take a few simple steps to prepare and help ensure a good donation experience.
The American Red Cross recommends getting a good night’s sleep, drinking an extra 16 ounces of water, eating iron-rich foods to maintain a healthy iron level and consuming a low-fat meal before donating.

The Monticello National Honor Society will be hosting a blood drive in the Rehmstedt Gym on Monday, December 21, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Blood donations often decline during winter, due to holiday festivities, inclement weather and seasonal illnesses such as the flu. Patients don’t get a holiday from needing blood or platelets. The need for donors is constant.

2014 Wisconsin Act 142, effective July 1, 2015, expanded the snowmobile trail pass requirement to include snowmobiles registered in Wisconsin and increased the nonresident snowmobile trail pass fee. <strong>Beginning with the 2015-16 snow season, all snowmobiles operating on a Wisconsin snowmobile trail or corridor must display a valid snowmobile trail pass whether registered in Wisconsin or another state. </strong>

Congratulations to Belleville's Science Olympiad team on their accomplishments at their first invitational meet in Boyceville, Wisconsin. Boyceville is home to the largest Science Olympiad competition in the country, and hosted 78 high school teams and 39 middle school teams.  Fourteen Belleville students competed in 21 events against 35 other schools in their division. These events required building, active problem solving, labs, and written tests.
